hummingbirds
Wheezer's Notes: Hummingbirds are easy to attract. Feeders are inexpensive and the liquid they like is easy to
make at home (see our food page). The Rubythroated is a common type of hummingbird widely
found in the eastern half of the United States. The female Rudythroated does not have a ruby colored throat like the
male has. Hummingbirds are, of course, migratory. In the Spring they fly up from Mexico or parts south up to bask in the
summer sun of the North. In Fall, they head back to the South to get away from the cold. You can feed them on their trip
both ways. They will spend most of the summer with you before they head back home if you keep them fresh food out.
